Wishing and hoping and praying(that the whistle will blow soon)
Since our dachshund was a puppy she has gotten a treat every time the tea kettle whistles. John is back on a tea kick and Pepper can't be any happier. Our husky Angel who we have had for six months has picked up on this quickly. It was big doings at our house tonight because we needed more tea. Aren't they cute? They're not spoiled at all.

Since we got more than basic channels John and I have had fun watching lots of weird shows. We have watched the commercials for Miami Ink so much we had to see it. Last night they had a marathon which we quickly became addicted to. I would not get a tattoo because I am a wimp when it comes to needles. I have a friend who got a tattoo that has her husband's name on it. His name is Dan. After she had her babies her skin stretched. She got the tattoo right above her chest. So when her skin stretched it looked like dun instead of Dan.She was done alright. I laughed my head off. She has a real good sense of humor and she laughs about it too. The moral of this story is if you are thinking about getting a tattoo be careful where you put it:)John came home today messing with me he drew my name on his arm. Like he could fool me. He does have nice muscles though:)He's a hottie.

John and I felt inspired by the cooking channel today. We went out and bought some fancy cheeses, spices, sun dried tomatoes, fancy sausage, fresh pineapple, and avocados. We created a wonderful cheese fondue, some guacamole with pita chips ,grilled sausage and bread (to dip in the fondue cheese),and cut up pineapple. I think the Melting Pot has competition. Our meal was delicious. We had a blast shopping and cooking together.

Flashlight tag and the cooking channel
Have we been in the house to long? My husband and son are playing flashlight tag or something like that.(same flashlight used in picture taking of the plant) I don't know what you call it. We have also been watching the cooking channel for several hours. We actually know some of the names of the chefs like chef Mario. I never knew how great the cooking channel is! I am inspired and am laughing my head off at my weird family. Two great things at once:)
Valentine's Day Blessings
I admire all the posts I read that were written even when the person was sick. I was to busy watching TV and feeding a cold. I am feeling much better but am still taking it easy. I was sick Valentine's Day but it was still a lovely day for me. My boys created a power point presentation on the computer for my husband and I. They included the reasons why they love us and the reasons why they know we love them. Also they put some of our favorite songs with the presentation. It was wonderful and surprising. John got me a beautiful Bougainvillea plant. It is a antique pink color. He bought me a beautiful pot to put it in I took the picture of the plant at night but with my lighting expert (my husband the electrician holding a flashlight) I got a picture of my plant. He also wrote me a poem. I am so blessed.

I had a blast shopping with Tricia. We hit a bunch of thrift stores,I am not sure if John will let me go with her again:)I found a lot of great deals. Tricia is not one to discourage you to buy things. Here are some pictures of what I found with her. I also hit a good yard sale this morning and found a few more things. Happy Valentines day to me.

I killed the dumbest squirrel ever!
To start off with,my apologies a head of time if this offends anyone. Yesterday while on the way to Tricia's house I ran over a squirrel. My sister in law Gina was in the car with me. I know she doesn't like to drive because she ran over a dog a while back. I like to pick on her about it. Of all the people to have in the car with me! Here is the part that might offend. I couldn't help but laugh. I was only going down the road at 25 mph. It darted right out in front of me. Gina yelled don't hit it. I wasn't sure if I had hit it. We looked out the back window. We could see it darted back and forth in only about a twelve inch space. It was bizarre. So I drove around the block to see if I had killed it. My husband (with a smile on his face) who is a hunter and likes squirrel meat asked if I brought it home.

Thankful!
I am not always the most positive person. I definitely lean toward the glass half empty side. Today is a good day. I love days when I don't have clean houses and I can just come home. I like cleaning houses but I love to be at home. I went grocery shopping after taking the boys to school this morning so there is a bunch of snack food in the house. I am not one of those people who can eat the food they are buying while they are shopping. I have a fear that the computer will go down or something and I won't be able to pay. To me people like that are really living on the edge. I know I am pathetic and don't like to take chances. So, I eagerly wait until I get in the car to open the bag of chips. Life is good today sitting here on my couch watching TV,typing on my laptop, and eating snacks. Other things in life that make me happy are watching American Idol, going to thrift stores, watching Friends, reading a new magazine( I found a thrift store that sells the newer ones for 10 cents},Sunday afternoons when you can just relax and look at the sale ads,and taking naps. I am looking forward to this weekend. My brother and sister in law invited us to go on the River Ship Romance. I have never been and I am very excited. Also there is a Super Bowl party this weekend. What fun! In March we are planning to take a trip to a cabin here in Florida about three hours away. I am thankful today!
